Spring Cleaning

It all started with a link -- two, tops.

At the bottom of the main page of this blog, I wanted a link that would take the fine people who read this blog, like yourself, to another page of older posts. Previously if a fine person wanted to read something more than the main page, they had to commit to some form of archive. That's a lot to ask of someone who might wander in here from the abyssal plains of cyberspace. They'll click Next until they get bored, but to click December -- that's a whole month.

So just a link, occasionally two.

To add that link within my old blogging software, Movable Type (MT), would have taken too much time for me to figure out the coding. I code like I work on the house -- reluctantly and slowly. And while MT had a vibrant community, tools, and buzz 2 years ago when I started this blog, all that seems to have fizzled once they started charging for it.

So now I'm using WordPress. It's open source, free, and full of buzz. It'll also offer me greater integration of the words part of the blog and the pictures part of the blog.

Much like the kitchen or bathroom, the blog will still be working -- although it'll be a mess for a while. Here's the old navigation bar items:

Oh, and if you scroll down a bit, I think there's a link that might interest you. Maybe two.
