Yes, I've actually finished something constructive (as opposed to destructive) in the main bathroom. The floor is completed.
After installing the CBUs, I installed the electric radiant floor heating. Since I removed the radiator to fit a second sink in the bathroom, we needed heating. But there wasn't anywhere that another radiator could go. So we got this electric mat that you install under the tile that hooks up to a thermostat. Voila! A warm bathroom.
After the electric mat was the floor leveler. It was decidedly not self leveling -- I had to get in and smooth it all out before it hardened any more. Not the best experience.
Setting the tile and grouting went smoothly. It's mosaic tile that had a mesh backer. Since the tub is not quite square with the rest of the bathroom, I had to make ample use of my tile saw. Nevertheless, not nearly as taxing as the downstairs shower.
By the end of the week we will once again have a toilet upstairs. Hallelula! Next up, shower tiling.
