Blogging

And so the blogging begins.

I'm still coming to terms with blogwriting. I kept a journal for years, but the public nature of a blog -- needless to say -- demands a change of focus. Or is it a change of honesty? Or does it really matter what the word is? Fact is that different audiences require unique voices and conversations. What I would write about in a solipsistic diary -- me, secret feelings, personal 'issues' -- would frankly be boring for a public forum. 'Know your audience' -- or at least realize you have one.

So, entertaining -- that's one. And no blog about blogging. God knows there are plenty of those types of blogs out there. Much like rock stars singing about being rock stars and writers who feature novelists as their protagonists, blogs about blogs can reflect a lack of imagination. Not saying that is can't be done in an entertaining and witty fashion -- but just I'm not that guy.

So WTF? Dunno. I have a pretty good idea what I dont want this to be, but the rest is indistinct. Photos, yes. Showing off the house, yes. Sharing travel tales, yes. The rest -- I'll figure in the doing.
